About Me
Desmond Kingston (He/Him/His) currently resides in Dayton, Ohio. He is fresh out of undergrad with a BFA in acting from Wright State University. A native of Dayton, Desmond gained exposure to a myriad of art forms during his formative years at Stivers: School for the Arts. Though, thanks to a family full of creatives, he has been passionate about the arts his whole life.
In addition to performing, Desmond is an avid writer. He continuously develops scripts for the stage and screen in hopes to produce them one day. Other artistic hobbies include photography, piano, guitar, and visual arts. Outside of the arts, Desmond’s passions lie in food, being outside, and traveling!
Artist Statement
Desmond believes in the arts as a tool for change, healing, and catharsis. The stage and the screen lay bare truths that some are unwilling to reckon with in the bustle of our day to day. Theatre is a sort of communion that brings people together and allows ideals to work through them. This shared experience can evoke a profound sense of belonging, and indescribable wonder. Desmond’s mission as an artist is to create works that both empower and challenge the way audiences think.
